Building for the Future at Kagando Hospital
We are fundraising for Friends of Kagando; a UK-based charity dedicated to supporting Kagando Hospital in Western Uganda.

This spring, Will Carr is travelling to Kagando to help manage and build a new secure farm building he has designed as part of the hospital’s setup. The project involves constructing a 6m x 11m steel-framed building with a concrete floor, designed to safely store crops and equipment. By improving storage and efficiency, the farm will be able to operate more profitably, generating much-needed income to support the hospital’s work.

Will brings with him practical engineering and farming experience gained in the UK. As he explains: “Feeling fortunate to be able to create sculptures for clients and manage a farm at home, I feel that my engineering skills can be useful out there too.” During his three weeks in Uganda, Will will manage a local team of five workers, ordering materials in advance and working long days; much of it involving hand-mixing concrete, a far cry from UK building conditions.
Crucially, Will Carr Sculpture is covering the full cost of building materials for the project. We are now raising £600 to cover local labour costs and essential additional expenses, ensuring fair wages and helping support skilled workers in an area where construction work is scarce.
Every donation, no matter the size, will directly support Kagando Hospital’s future. Please donate via our JustGiving page and help us build something that will last.
Thank you for your support.
